All of the decks have been beaten at blue stake or above! I've unlocked the entire collection! It would still be nice if I could beat all of the special challenges, get the joker stickers percentage over 50%, and the deck stake wins over 75%, but managing to get every deck-- even the black deck and the erratic deck-- past the blue stake feels like such an accomplishment. Oh, and I've also beaten gold stake with one deck-- the checkered one I think? If not the checkered, then the yellow deck. One of those two.

I do also have the game on steam, but I mainly play on my phone. It's just such a good game for playing a little bit at a time when I'm on the bus or killing time for something else. I don't think that I'll stop playing it now, but maybe I'll be able to stop playing it so obsessively now that I've basically accomplished most of my goals with the game... but probably not lol.

I'm caught up with Hermitcraft season 11! I'm following Gem, Tango, Scar, and Pearl, and occasionally watching Grian and Mumbo when they drop new videos when I have time to watch them. I've decided to watch Bdubs' season 11 after I catch up with his Building with Bdubs series and his season 10. His Minecraft videos are like, in a different mental category to me than the rest of Hermitcraft-- he's just such an artist, he sculpts with the blocks of the game so well, when I watch him it feels like I'm watching an artist at work instead of watching someone talented play a game I like. It's like he's playing creative mode and everyone else is in survival.

Gem: I think it's kind of hilarious that she is clearly pulling inspiration for her theme this season from Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, but she is just refusing to say so lol. For good reason! She's a PG Hermitcraft youtuber, she does not want to send a herd of 12 year olds off to watch Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon because she said she's drawing inspiration from them! But I still find it really funny. I mean, maybe she isn't! But it definitely feels like she is, with the dragon queen stuff she's doing. But she's a lot of fun to watch as usual. I need to hop on one of her streams again, I never cancelled my twitch subscription to her, so it's probably at like 3 or 4+ years now, and I kinda want to see her react to that lol.

Tango: What a madman. I love seeing his mountain build up, and I am so excited about Decked Out 3. I love watching him build it! I'm excited to see what the haunted village is going to look like, after he's done building his mountain around it. He's also just a joy to watch, I love watching him get excited and have fun, he's got a really contagious energy.

Scar: He also has just such a contagious, fun energy, I love it. He's also like an artist at work, and I love seeing what he builds, especially terrain.

Pearl: I love her architecture! I also love the theme that she's going with this season, being a firefighter. She's a lot of fun to watch, too. I love watching her little firefighter station and town grow, I'm excited to see how it develops!

And an RPS/RPF aside...:
Man, Grian and Gem have been like so into each other lately, it genuinely makes me wonder what is going on there. They were glued to each other's side on the ski trip! The way that they talk to and about each other! It has definitely gotten the RPF motor in my brain going.

Akane-banashi #193: The art is so beautiful this chapter! I love it. I love the way that the artist blended the 'rakugo' style for illustrating the rakugo stories with the art for the 'real world,' it was a super cool effect.

Alien Headbutt #1: Hmm. The first chapter doesn't seem super promising, but I really liked the art when the alien first appeared. I'm willing to give this one another chapter or two to see where it goes. I think it could be decent if it leans into angst and tragedy and the guy's whole family dies, but if they're all alive and idk, the protagonist gets recruited for an anti-alien task force, then I'll probably drop it.

Hima-Ten! #77: It's nice seeing Himari and Tenichi together outside of work! No major developments this chapter, but that's fine, we're clearly heading towards some sort of resolution or conflict.

Kagurabachi #111: Wow, the art! It's incredible. Samura... ;_; I'm looking forward to where the story goes from here! I was a little worried that the series was going to end with this climax, but it doesn't look like it. Maybe there will be a timeskip, though?

Kinato's Magic #2: My interest is starting to wane... I'll give it another chapter, but I suspect that I'll decide to drop it. I like the protagonist being a healer! I don't need him to perform super special magic that isn't healing! Oh well...

I bit the bullet and finally subscribed to Viz Manga so I could catch up with Kai Hen Wizards and I’m glad I did! It’s up to chapter 35 currently. It’s still all so charming. I love the protagonist, and Zemu is great too.

I like the genderfuckery stuff going on— Zemu having male and female avatars and using both, and Roki being conspicuously ungendered. I also love that Roki’s got a love interest! Suho is really fun, and I love his relationship with Roki already.

I also love the drip feeding we’re getting of Saion’s past. I definitely think that he caused the kai hen that destroyed the flying country, that feels so obvious from chapter one, but I feel like there’s going to be a twist and I’m not sure what it’s going to be. I’m especially intruiged by the older twin brother with normal eyes but yet commanded power and attention.

I really hope that this series stays publishing for a long time! I don’t want it to get cancelled. I wish I could buy it physically in English, too, but so far it’s only available digitally.

Subscriptions & Backlogs

I'm still enjoying watching Naruto Shippuden, but the pacing is starting to get to me... I'm in the Tenchi Bridge arc right now and it just feels like everything has been moving so slowly for so long. I'll get through it, I'll get through it... but I am kind of wondering if maybe it would just be a better idea to read the manga. But then I miss out on the voice acting and the color and the fight animation! Hmm. It's something I'm thinking about.

I've also been meaning to catch up with Kai-Hen Wizards again! I missed when it returned from hiatus, so there are about 20 chapters or so right now that are subscription locked... but the subscription is only like $2 a month, so I think I'll get it soon for a month, catch up on Kai-Hen Wizards, and then drop it. I'll probably even be able to do it during the free trial period of a week.

I've also decided to cancel my subscription to marquee.tv, an excellent site that has a lot of opera, ballet, and theater performances recorded that you can watch with a subscription. I just wasn't using it! I'm trying to get a handle on my backlogs in general, of video games and books and shows and etc., and I just wasn't using this subscription, though I'm really glad that it exists as a service.

Other subscriptions I currently have include DCU Infinite and Dropout, both of which I also need to use more often... but I do actually use them, at least. Other than that, there's Crunchyroll of course, and Amazon Prime... one day I will cancel Amazon Prime, but I just! keep! buying! things! from Amazon. I've gotten better at curbing my spending, but I still use it often enough that it feels worth it... but it would be nice if I could stop buying shit on Amazon often enough that a Prime subscription would be worth cancelling.

So now my biggest backlog items are video games and books. I need to get in the habit of reading on my phone instead of playing games or browsing ffa when I'm bored! The video games... well, I'll get to them eventually. Right now my main focus entertainment-wise (especially wrt my TV) is Naruto Shippuden, so I expect to make more headway with the video game backlog once I'm done with Naruto.

Akane-banashi #192: The art is fantastic this week! I love the spread of Kaisei. I'm interested to see how Akane will get past this hurdle, too. I suspect that the answer might lie in her having to choose the right angle to go for, and going all in on that.

Hima-Ten! #76: It was fine. I hope it's not ending, but I'm also not sure that I want to see this love triangle stuff dragged out for much longer. I'm hoping that the next few chapters will have a fun twist or hook that makes the series feel as fun as it was when it started out.

Kagurabachi #110: Timeskip incoming? It's hard to say. I thought that this was going to be the series-ending climax, but the last page seems to indicate that that's not how it's going to go. The series continues to be excellent, though.

Kinato's Magic #1: Interesting start! I like the idea of a healer boy being the protagonist here. I'm definitely interested in reading more of it, I just hope that it can stick around long enough to get really going.
